Guests enjoy four acres of magnificent gardens. Multiple pathways framed by majestic and rare trees provide shelter to the plant collections of its former owner Sir Peter Hutchison, a well respected plant collector. In May and early June the Glen at Broich blossoms with rhododendrons and other shrubs collected by Sir Peter on his hair-raising and dangerous trips to the Himalayas. These woodland paths lead to the haven of Broich’s spectacular enclosed walled garden. Its yew hedges, herbaceous borders and water features form a magnificent space. In the spring and summer months (or autumn for the brave!) The Victorian Walled Garden is a wonderful place to enjoy a picnic or a barbecue with outdoor dining for 14 guests and soft seating covered by an oak gazebo alongside a hot tub, shower and outdoor kitchen.
After working up an appetite exploring what the house and gardens have to offer, guests can feast around the large Victorian dining room table which comfortably seats 14 people in an atmosphere of bygone splendour. Broich House is self-catered, however a chef can be arranged on request.
