Perched on the side of Kinder Scout, this ancient farmstead sits at the meeting point of historic packhorse routes from Glossop, Hayfield, and Edale. Dating back to at least the 14th century, it has welcomed industrialists, politicians, writers, royalty, and even Agatha Christie. Retained as a private shooting lodge by Sir James Watts in the 1800s, the house was enhanced by skilled craftsmen and now offers 11 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, multiple lounges, and well-equipped kitchens, blending historic charm with modern comfort.

Kitchens
Kinder Edge has four fully equipped kitchens, combining modern functionality with period features like exposed beams and stonework. Each offers casual seating for family breakfasts, relaxed lunches, or sociable dinners.

Living Spaces
The house features elegant gathering spaces, from the intimate snug and historic gun room to the grand main lounge and cottages lounge. Select rooms include fireplaces for extra warmth and charm.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Eleven beautifully appointed bedrooms, mainly on the first floor, include doubles, twins, and family rooms, each with unique character. The Cottage adds two ground-floor bedrooms. Seven bathrooms feature baths and showers, some with luxurious roll-top tubs and sweeping countryside views.

The Castle
The Castle Wing can be added to your stay, featuring a central courtyard with outdoor seating for up to 26 guests (April–October, subject to weddings). The Medieval Hall serves as a games room or can be hired for private dinners with access to The Huntsman’s Inn. The hall includes a commercial kitchen and can accommodate a 6-hour dinner with private chef catering (trusted suppliers recommended).
